0D20E HARD COPY FILE SHOULD BE PRINTED
Cause: Only 2 tracks of the hard-copy file are still available.
System Action: Processing continues. If the hard-copy file is not printed, the information
contained in this file will be overwritten as soon as message 0D25E appears.
Programmer Action: none.
Operator Action: Run the utility PRINTLOG to print the hard-copy file.
The jcl for the utility is as follows:
* $$ JOB JNM=PRINTLOG,USER='OPER',PRI=8,CLASS=0,DISP=L
* $$ LST LST=00E,CLASS=A,DISP=D,JSEP=1
// JOB PRINTLOG - PRINT AND CLEAR SYSTEM CONSOLE LOG
// EXEC PGM=PRINTLOG
* $$ EOJ
The program will present the operator with a choice of what in the log to print. The most common
response is "ALL" but one can choose "BG" or another partition in order to limit the output. One
choice is "NEW" which will not result in the log file being cleared. Only a response of "ALL" will
reset the log file and prevent over-writing of it's contents.
An example of the console messages from Printlog:
03 BG // JOB PRINTLOG - PRINT AND CLEAR SYSTEM CONSOLE LOG
04 DATE 04/13/86,CLOCK 21/43/35
05 BG ENTER ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS: ALL OR NEW, AR OR BG OR F1

09 BG EOJ PRINTLOG
10 DATE 04/13/86,CLOCK 21/43/38,DURATION 00/00/03
11 F1 1Q34I BG WAITING FOR WORK
The resulting output looks like this.
