0P25 PROT CHECK
Cause: Channel Status Word protection check. A user read command attempted to read into
an address space outside the problem area. All problem program I/O requests are executed
with protection key (see Figure 7). Sense data printed with this message is meaningless,
because generation of the message is not preceded by a sense command.
1. Resubmit the job with a // OPTION DUMP statement.
2. Obtain the CCW address by subtracting 8 from the address located in bytes 2-4 of the
CSW, or from the address in bytes X'41'-X'43" of a low storage dump (see Figure 8).
3. Get the start address from bytes 1-3 of the CCW and the end address by adding the
count (bytes 6-7 of the CCW) to the start address (see Figure 8).
4. Compare the start and end addresses against the partition allocations listed in the storage
If you are using more than one partition and these addresses are outside the partition bounda-
ries, either reallocate storage or reprogram to fit the existing boundaries. If your program runs
in a single partition system, reprogram.
If the problem recurs. retain

· program listing
for problem determination.
Operator Action: See Figure 4 at the beginning of this section. Execute the MAP command if
your system has more than one partition, if not, have the supervisor listing available.
