0P44 ID CHK
Cause: Unit check (PE ID burst check). Unsuccessful attempt to write the PE ID burst at load
point. The probable cause is a defective spot on the tape in the area where the PE ID burst
must be written.
System Action: Tape is repositioned at load point and retried up to fifteen times. If the
fifteenth retry is unsuccessful the tape is unloaded.
Programmer Action: none.
Operator Action: Mount another output tape, or reposition the load point reflective spot a
few inches further on the tape.
