Definition of 1A82D

1A82D INCORRECT RECORD LENGTH ON SYSTEM FILE
Cause: The previous assignment tried to assign SYSRDR, SYSIPT, or SYSIN to a file
containing records with a length other than 80 or 81 bytes. This is probably a user error.
System Action: If SYSLOG is assigned to a console printer—keyboard, the system waits for an
operator response; otherwise the assignment is ignored.
Programmer Action: Correct the length of the input-file records to 80 or 81 bytes. Resubmit
the assignment and rerun the job.
If the problem persists, have the
· job stream
· log sheet
· printer output
· display of the input file
available for problem determination.
Operator Action: Check that the correct tape or disk volume is mounted and that the correct
assignment has been made; if necessary, type a new assignment, or
Type IGNORE or press END/ENTER to continue processing, or
Type CANCEL to cancel the job.
