Cause: The phase name contains invalid characters, (valid characters are: A-Z, 0-9, /, #, $,
and @), or
The phase name is 'ALL'.
System Action: The invalid statement is ignored and processing continues, unless ACTION
CANCEL was specified to cancel the job.
Programmer Action: Refer to card format 3, linkage editor control cards (DOS/VS System
Control Statements, under Linkage Editor) and compare this with the output on SYSLST. One
probable error is that invalid characters were used in the phase name. Correct the statement in
error and resubmit the job.
If the problem recurs, have the
· linkage editor map
· log sheet
· job control cards
· object modules
available for problem determination.
If the program was compiled again, have the source deck and the program listing available.
