Cause: On a retrieval function for an indexed sequential file, SYSxxx did not contain the
indexes. SYSxxx was on the first EXTENT card submitted for this file; this card must reference
the file that has the indexes.
System Action: The job is canceled.
Programmer Action: Check the extent information for the file in error. If the extent informa-
tion was submitted using the STDLABEL or PARSTD options. use the LSERV output to
examine the extent information for the file in error. If the file is correct, use the LVTOC output
to verify the existence of the indexes. Make the necessary corrections and resubmit the job.
If the problem recurs, have the
· job stream
· system log
· printer output
· program listing
· LVTOC output
· LSERV output
available for problem determination.
Operator Action: Check that the correct pack is mounted and that the assignment is correct.
If this is the case. execute LVTOC for the device assigned to the file in error. If standard
(permanent) labels were used, execute LSERV and return the output of both to your program-
mer.
