8229I a) KEY MAY BE IN ERROR
b) COUNT MAY BE IN ERROR
Cause:
a) There is a possible error in the recovered key. The data field was not recovered. The
record is formatted as read with the data field filled with EBCDIC A characters.
b) This message is issued when trying to assign an alternate track to a track that contains
invalid data in its count fields.
System Action:
a) Processing continues.
b) The job is canceled.
Programmer Action:
a) Check the key for validity. Create the filo on another disk pack or data cell, or
Initialize this disk pack or data cell and recreate the file.
b) Execute a dump of the disk pack and check the output for validity.
a,b) If the problem recurs, have the
· job stream
· system log
· printer output
· stand-alone dump at the time of the failure
available for problem determination.
Note: Use the dump to find the track in error. The value in register 1, plus 9 and 10, is the
failing cylinder and head.
