Definition of a-disk

 

A-disk - For VM/370, in CMS this is the primary user disk. Every user is allocated this disk for read/write use. Files are kept until actively deleted by the user.



It is in VM/370 parlance a "mini disk", an emulated disk drive that has a fraction of the capacity of the real disk drive it resides on. In a typical VM/370 installation there are several of them defined for each user. On the Sixpack system the CMSUSER has at login:
